The Spelling Bee is the drunken brain child of Marcia and Jess, who, after six pints of lager each, decided that their love of all things Spelling and other cheesy TV had to be shared with the world. Surprisingly, they were still keen on the idea the next morning. Marcia volunteered for the editor position simply because she wanted to call herself the Queen Bee. Sadly, no one else ever calls her that.
Marcia hopes to use the site to spread the gospel of Melrose Place to a new generation. When she’s not seeking new converts, she’s likely watching television somewhere or writing for her other site, Pop Vultures, where she talks about television shows that aren’t on the CW.
Jess tends to run around the planet like some sort of future UN superhero, but her love of 90210, past and present, follows her wherever she goes. Her entire 90s wardrobe could have come from Brenda Walsh’s closet, and she still wouldn’t kick Luke Perry out of bed.
Bex has devoted several years of her life to the former WB’s programming and still managed to find time to complete a PhD in Immunology. She now uses her highly scientific brain to attempt to make sense of One Tree Hill’s ridiculous plots.
Shelly likes to kick it old school with vintage Spelling shows, since getting involved with the new crop of teen soaps would mean the loss of valuable WoW playing time. She’s currently tackling the landmine of 70s sexual politics that is The Love Boat.
